SCTA fixes the guard/30,000 health bug present in Team Arena!

290 new settings in SCTA and counting!

About SCTA / SCQ3A

SCTA/SCQ3A is an enhancement for Q3 Team Arena and Q3 Arena servers. It enables the server admin to have MUCH more control over the server than would normally be possible. While it does add features and options, it can be configured to behave EXACTLY like a normal Q3TA server. So if you want to use it to address bugs in ID's code, no problem. If you want to just change how fast rockets fly on your server, no problem. If you want to seriously alter the game play, no problem.
SCTA/SCQ3A is a server side-only mod. Clients do not need anything to play on your server!

Features

  • Bugfixes against base 1.30 code
    • Disabling powerups via their disable_item_xxx mechanism no longer causes server crashes
    • Server "say" now prints a \n (linefeed)
    • “BG_CanItemBeGrabbed: Index out of range” fatal error has been resolved
    • Removing rocket launcher from map no longer causes obelisk explosion to screw up (gray boxes)

    • Kamikaze and Juicing are now correctly logged

    • Respawn rates for any individual item can be changed (IE *just* the BFG)
    • Persistent powerups can be made to respawn
    • Initial powerup spawns (usually 45 +- 15 seconds) can be manipulated.
    • A maximum number of persistent powerups that a team can have active is configurable.  Invaluable at preventing all-guard teams when persistent respawning is used.
    • Anywhere you can specify a respawn, you can specify a random number!  Yes, make quad respawning totally random!
  • Weapon manipulation
    • Ability to change missile characteristics - speed, damage, splashdamage, number of missiles, spread, etc
    • Ability to change weapon firing rates
    • Railgun distance and number of clients hit is configurable
  • Item spawning (swap, move, delete) manipulation
    • *any* item can be swapped with *any* other item with a simple CVAR statement

  • Flexible map rotation system
    • You can force the server to move on to the next map even if no one clicks ready or if no one's on the server
    • Completely new, optional, rotation system; a new file format defines the maps, settings, voteability, min/maxplayers required, and more!
    • New system allows randomly-chosen rotation!
    • New system allows for reloading a new configuration on the fly without disturbing the server at all
  • Death event manipulation

    • The amount of ammo in dropped weapons can be configured to be the weapon's value, or whatever the client had at time of death
    • The time death-dropped weapons stick around for is configurable

    • Replaced ID's banning system with an external textfile containing IPs or IP blocks (full CIDR style!) - 16KB worth of banning!
